After a seven-year wait, library@orchard returns with a brand new library experience and concept. The opening was officiated by Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information, and graced by former CEOs, Dr Christopher Chia and Dr N. Varaprasad.

Built around the theme, Design is for Everyone, the library currently carries the largest public collection on design and applied arts, magazines, fiction books and audio-visual materials in four languages.

NLB collaborated with students and lecturers from Singapore Polytechnic to develop new features such as Book Trees, where users can browse integrated displays that feature selected books, artworks, videos and other related inspiring design material and the Cocoon, pod-inspired seating where users can do creative thinking and learning comfortably.
